Experts from CrowdCheck, Assurely, DealMaker and Dalmore Group discuss various strategies for minimizing risk for private companies raising capital and investors.
Crowdfund Insider's latest crowdfunding and investment webinar series event, 'Managing Risk in a Private Security Offering for Issuers, Investors and Platforms,' takes place virtually on the 17th of May 2023 at 1 PM Eastern Time.
As exciting private companies raising capital via equity crowdfunding continue to grow, so does their responsibility to ensure investors are well-informed and engaged, comply with various regulations, and mitigate risk for themselves and their communities of investors.
Webinar host Andrew Dix, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Crowdfund Insider, sits down with four prominent FinTech figures to discuss the importance of effectively maintaining investor communities, managing risk and complying with regulations and how private companies can effectively do this.
Panellists include CrowdCheck's Chief Administrative Officer, Jamie Ostrow, who has over a decade of experience in securities law and regulation while being a trusted advisor to clients seeking assistance with online capital formation and general corporate law issues.
"Investor relations is a critical component of equity crowdfunding." Said Ostrow, "Companies need to be transparent with their investors, provide regular updates, and ensure that their investors are engaged and informed".
Ostrow is joined by Assurely CEO and Co-Founder David Carpentier, an experienced insurance professional who built a reputation for delivering solutions for changing industries and innovative companies.
"Private securities are an increasingly important part of the investment landscape, offering investors access to opportunities that were once limited to institutional investors," Carpentier said.
DealMaker CEO Rebecca Kacaba also joins the panel, recognized as one of North America's most innovative lawyers by the Financial Times and honoured as a Lexpert' Top 40 Under 40' individual in the legal field.
Final panellist Etan Butler is a recognized pioneer in the Regulation A+ and crowdfunding industry as Chairman of Dalmore Group, which has become one of the most active in the world for Regulation A+ offerings.
Regarding managing risk, Butler said: "Investors need to understand the unique risks and opportunities associated with private securities and should work with experienced professionals to navigate this complex and evolving market."
