Experts from Rialto Markets, Justly, and Abundance will convene to explain how equity crowdfunding enables private companies and investors to drive positive change and build a more sustainable future while reaping financial rewards.
Crowdfund Insider's latest crowdfunding and investment webinar series event, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Impact Investing, takes place virtually on the 19th of April 2023 at 1 PM Eastern Time.
Investors increasingly seek to align their financial goals with personal values while contributing to a better world, prioritizing investing in sustainable and socially responsible projects.
According to Forbes late last year, ESG investment assets under management (AUM) will more than double in the United States and increase by 53% in Europe. Meanwhile, Bloomberg Intelligence predicts ESG investments will surpass $41 trillion in 2023.
ESG-focused private companies are also set to benefit from this important shift, attracting greater investment while differentiating themselves from competitors and improving long-term profitability.
Webinar host Andrew Dix, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Crowdfund Insider, will interview three prominent FinTech figures to discuss how the growing ESG and impact investment space will benefit both private companies and investors within equity crowdfunding and how both sides can utilize ESG to see financial returns.
Panellists include Rialto Markets CEO and Co-Founder Shari Noonan. Noonan has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, scaling operations for Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Instinet. Noonan was also instrumental in the electronification of the equities market.
Passionate about ESG and impact investing, Noonan said: "Incorporating ESG and impact metrics into business strategies will help private companies to raise capital as well as drive long-term sustainability and profitability."
Noonan will be joined by Abundance Investment Managing Director Bruce Davis, a seasoned entrepreneur and passionate advocate of democratizing finance to meet the challenges of the climate crisis.
Abundance has led the change for green finance, becoming the world's first regulated investment crowdfunding platform while raising almost £150m for UK green projects and businesses.
"The rise of impact investing and ESG investing is a response to the growing recognition that we need to find ways to invest our money that are sustainable in the long-term," said Davis, "this is from both a financial perspective and a social and environmental perspective."
Justly CEO Paul Karrlsson Wallis will also join the panel. As an impact broker-dealer with a crowdfunding platform for privately held ESG firms, JUSTLY helps connect institutional and retail investors with companies aiming to improve ESG challenges.
Karrlsson Wallis is passionate about the need for businesses to make an impact in addition to generating revenues and mitigating risk:
"As investors increasingly recognize the impact of ESG factors on financial performance, companies need to be able to report on ESG data in a meaningful and accessible way."
