FinTech experts Howard Marks, Etan Butler and Mat Goldstein will convene to explore the differences and importance in equity crowdfunding platforms and broker-dealers in 2023.
Crowdfund Insider’s latest crowdfunding and investment webinar series event, Equity Crowdfunding Platforms and Broker-Dealers, takes place virtually on the 22nd of March 2023 at 1 PM Eastern Time.
Andrew Dix, editor-in-chief and co-founder at Crowdfund Insider, will interview three private securities and secondary trading heavyweights during this webinar about the difference between equity crowdfunding platforms such as StartEngine and self-hosted solutions hosted by the likes of Dalmore Group and DealMaker.
Self-hosted equity crowdfunding solutions enable high-growth private companies to have Invest Now button technology on their own websites when raising capital through equity crowdfunding exemptions such as Reg CF and Reg A+.
Both approaches work, but equity crowdfunding platforms offer you an established community but not the control of your own investor community and data that a self-hosted solution offers on a private company issuers website.
The panel will discuss the benefits and differences of the two solutions, as well as how to drive equity crowdfunding investment and reach wider audiences to build communities of advocacy during an equity crowdfunding capital raise.
Panellists include Howard Marks, co-founder of leading equity crowdfunding platform StartEngine, which has already enabled over 500 companies to raise over $600 million from a community of more than 760,000 potential investors.
Before StartEngine, Marks was the Chairman of major gaming company Activision, which last year Microsoft tried to acquire with a bid of $68.7 billion. Marks also founded Acclaim Games, which eventually sold to The Walt Disney Company.
Marks was named the 2015 "Treasure of Los Angeles" for transforming the city into a technology hub and serves on LA Mayor Eric Garcetti's technology council.
Joining Marks will be Dalmore Group chairman Etan Butler. Dalmore Group was named the number one investment broker-dealer for Regulation A+ investment offerings in 2022, and industry leader of the year at the inaugural equity crowdfunding awards.
Butler also regularly speaks and teaches about the innovation and customization of funding programs, considering the new opportunities governed by the SEC.
Mat Goldstein at DealMaker will also join the panel as co-founder of one of Canada’s top three fastest-growing companies. FinTech specialists DealMaker help high-growth private companies raise capital using equity crowdfunding.
Looking ahead to the webinar, host Andrew Dix said:
“Crowdfund Insider Webinar Series is privileged to have such a distinguished panel for its latest webinar. The expertise and success of all three panellists are second to none, and they will undoubtedly provide great insight into equity crowdfunding for everyone who attends and wants to know more about the different routes to market for private company issuers and their investors.”
